TV or NO TV?

Lately, I have found myself turning into a couch monster, YIKES! As my dear family and friends know, my life has taken a slight change in regards to my body "letting" me be as active as I use to be... can't help that one due to my recent medical condition that can literally debilitate me completely...Try not to let it, but I'm being more realistic now that we are going on OMG 2 years since my diagnosis.
Also, my hubby is a firefighter and I find myself home alone a lot. I usually just have it on to have "noise" as if someone was in the house with me, which I'm sure you guys find weird or out right ridiculous... I Know... I Know... But, then I've started to find myself going to certain channels now, and sitting to fold laundry, do all chores I can in front of it, and now almost EVERYTHING!!! BLAH!! I don't like this because I grew up with out a belief in television. My Dad, (Dad if you read this you will laugh) was very anti-television. He would say,"there is so much to do, and sitting in front of a TV during the day is just plain out lazy!" He would literally get mad, we were just not allowed until we were older teens. So, I have this "DAD VOICE" in my head telling me, What are you doing?
It is so hard to find things to do in the town I live in that isn't related to either clubs, drinking, or drugs... just being honest! My dearest of friends have all moved away, so that outlet is gone :(
So, I guess my question to you guys is what do you think? If you get things done, but done with a TV on, is it bad? What do you guys think is a healthy TV time? Or should I just plain get rid of the TV period. Which makes me laugh since it's the size of most people's computer screens now, LOL! I'm sure as my life changes and children are involved, I know for a fact this will change. But, do any of you have any suggestions, comments, etc.?

Thanks for reading, and I hope you all have a fun-wonder-lous Day!

Random Randomness!

" In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life: IT GOES ON."- Robert Frost

I find myself throughout the day pondering things, and wondering what others are doing, thinking, participating in, feeling etc. One thing I find myself doing a lot is reading true life stories, watching documentaries and history, and reading my daily quote or quotes that someone else has come up with. Along with that, choosing one word in the dictionary, learning about it and trying to use it somehow. With this said, it has created this monster I like to call Mae-Zila. I have created this obsession with seeing, or peeking into the lives of others. Not in a creepy way, not to judge, disrespect, discriminate against, or disregard; just see in.

As I'm sitting on my couch in the dark, with just the glow of my computer screen, I can't help but listen to the rain outside and wonder what others are doing at this very moment in their lives.

I feel like we are all brought up with this preconceived notion that we are all suppose to be this specific person at a certain time, with these specified guidelines to life, but never given a life manual. Maybe this is just coming from a person that holds a pitchfork to my life for every poor, misjudged, misguided, misrepresented decision I have ever done; yes even down to childhood. But, at the same time doesn't hold anybody attached to me nearly to as high of standards as I do for myself.

We all know, no matter how difficult the mud puddle is in front of us, (metaphorically speaking), we some how find a way to; jump over it, stomp through it, play in it, talk to it as if that will make it go away, curse at it, or frankly go around it. What ever choice you choose or should say I choose, I constantly badger myself about the choices I make everyday. It's like the energizer bunny brain, that constantly is moving at a rate that never subsides.

If there is any of you out there that tends to follow in my brain's foot steps, please feel free to jump on in and share. Let me get a glimpse into maybe an inch of normalcy to which I stand in.

Yes as you see, this one quote that I started my post about created all this madness in my mind. Blah, Blah, Blah.....and to you a Valium to get you through my blogness :)

Also, I have had people ask me what type of blog my blog is going to be about, this is my answer: Everything that has to deal with life, lives, my life, what is going on at the present moment life, past lives, I'm thinking you're getting my drift. Hence my name that I have had forever: MAELUVSLIFE :)

Oh and BTW I'm really into makeup right now. All kinds, not just pretty face makeup, everything down to scary, creepy crawly makeup, weird I know....but look who it is ;)

Yes the quintessential word of the day:

TRUCKLE: to act in a subservient manner. (oh man, that makes me laugh) -inside joke-

But as always I wish you all the love and happiness that life can give and fulfill in the present moment.

Luv Luvs,

Mae

Dear Facebook

Dear Facebook,

I do enjoy you 90% of the time, but lately I've been feeling a lot of disrespectful, greed filled, miss representation of you and your so called friends.

If you read this, please understand that there are no real requirements of you for facebook, but I believe there are requirements of human maturity and love of one another.

Thanks for reading, any thoughts comments would be great!

Thinking that the road less traveled will be me on facebook!

Life In General right now!

From Mar 13, 2011

Lately I feel a real big shift in life in general. I think there is so much change for so many people across the country. I want to first off give my ultimate love, prayers, and hope for those involved in everything going on around the world, whether it is the earthquake in Japan/Tsunami, wars still going on in Afghanistan/Iraq, the horrible things going on in Libya, etc.

It really makes you wonder why there is so much disaster going on around the world. I believe even more than ever that this makes us come to the realization that we are all extremely connected no matter where you live. Everything that occurs effects everyone! I find myself having to turn off the news for awhile and take a breath, just to not overwhelm my anxiety and emotions going on for everyone.

I just wanted to come on here and give my love, support, thoughts, prayers, and what ever else I can do for worldwide support!

So for those of you out there, what are your thoughts on this, and do you think things are going to slowly get better, or worse?

Mae

Cycling/Bicycle riding :)

Sorry its been awhile since I have posted something, but I'm going to start posting more, hopefully a lot more!!!!

My friend Courtney and I rode about 15 miles today and it was beautiful and breath taking! We had to show the streets signs of how far we went.

Lately I have been taking up bicycle riding again and have been loving every minute of it. I use to ride my bike every where about four years ago and as my body started to act crazy with me, I stopped riding my bike. I thought bike riding was going to be the last thing that my body was going to allow me to do, but I was WRONG! I have no joint or leg pain/discomfort and I actually feel amazing right after and even days after.

As those of you know I have had to give up quite a lot of my sports, especially the extreme ones, and that also meant giving up part of my soul. I have always been a super active, and when I say super I mean S-U-P-E-R active person. So, it was devastating learning that my body just can't do certain things anymore. I have been trying all kinds of things to start figuring exercise wise what I could do that wouldn't affect my condition...... well, bike riding wins the award! Yay! I still do Yoga also, but a much more toned down Yoga. I think I'm finally slowly dealing with my despair from having to release my business which entailed lots of hours of dance, and exercise. I'm finally starting to feel okay about it. So we will see what tomorrow brings! :)

Happy New Year's Eve!

Happy New Year's Eve/ New Year! 2011, double ones, eleven..... Let's make this a positive, exciting, grateful, peaceful and healthy year!

Its been a crazy life changing 2010 for me and my family. The one great thing about life is no matter how down or low your life might be at one moment, you will be able to look back at those horrible moments and see that you are standing on the other side. Now, it's how you are standing on the other side that makes you release those" burbs", "farts", "slips", and out right falls that happen in life that give you the hiccups of life.
For awhile, I let a medical condition, a feeling of failure, and just plain out negativity towards my self and some people that did me wrong, get to me. I found myself walking around with these things that literally weighed me down.
Then one day I was sitting with my dogs and saw how easy and wonderful their life is and it was like I got smacked upside my head. I came to the realization that you absolutely hold the power to your life and how you categorize events that occur, good or bad. Dogs get up every morning and have a smile on their face just to see your face. I thought well shoot if their that excited to see my face, then their must be something with it.
So, yes I went to the mirror starred into it and said, "well hello there lady, their seems to be something good in their somewhere." I'm not joking when I say I did this everyday for about a week and what ever came to my mind I wrote it down in my journal. As the week went on things started to get progressively positive. What I came to was that my life and who I am and how extraordinary of a family and dear friends I have are in my life because I have chosen those things to be there. You ever heard of birds of a feather flock together? Then I can honestly say that my peacock feathers are mucho grandiose! I can't express how much I adore and love my family, friends, and animals. My life is filled to the brim, and I will just let it over flow as 2011 comes.

I wanted to just give a few goals that I will be accomplishing for 2011

1. Talk positive as much as possible! The second I feel the urge to be negative, I will stop and think of my dogs and if I have to I will roll over and sleep! LOL!

2. Fully enjoy and be aware of moments that occur, good, bad, or indifferent. And enjoy them for exactly what they are.

3. Unhook my eyes from the darn television. I have found that my addiction relates to tv, I can just crash not think and become a zombie when watching tv. NO BUENO! Even though I don't watch as much as a lot of people do, I would prefer to cut it out all together. I have a feeling nursing school will help with that :^)

4. Be the best person that I can be for myself, not for anyone else. I know you are probably sticking your finger down your throat right now saying gag me already, but naner...naner it's my goals, get over it!

5. Figure out a balance in life and everyday activities.

There are a couple more but I will leave those for PRIVATE!

I really hope that everybody has a great night, a fresh start, and an extraordinary year! Hope everyone has someone as special as I do to ring in the New Year!
